My grandmother Elizabeth Fuller Leeds is a descendant of Edward Fuller who with his wife sailed over on the Mayflower. Edward Fuller was the 21st signer of the Mayflower Compact.
My wife Pamela Catherine (Hendrix) Barker(1949- ) in the daughter of Lee Roy Hendrix (1926-2001) and Catherine Virginia (Toole) Hendrix (1928- ) and the grand daughter of Hollie Gilbert Hendrix(1890-1972) and Berth Mary Mae Roper(1896-1978); Lee La Vance Toole (1882-1956) and Lena Mae Ledbetter (1885-1972).
Pam and I own a small family business that was started in 1970 (see our business history)Athens Art and Frame. We specialize in custom framing and photo restoration and preservation.
I first started my genealogy research in 1998 – collecting information on the Barker’s, Edwards’, Obrien’s, Hendrix’s and the Toole’s. All of our grandparents were already deceased by this time but I did interview many older family members who told me many family stories.
My interest is to trace our ancestry roots and to get a glimpse into the lives of our relatives – how they lived, where they worked, hardships they endured and other facts.
This blog is a working sketchbook of the information that I have collected and the research in progress.
